Minion Academy Season: New Card Minion Giant and Hero Ice Wizard

The Minion Academy season started on September 7, 2026 and brought a new card, Minion Giant, and a new Hero form, Hero Ice Wizard. Minion Giant can be unlocked for free through the season’s Album Event, while Hero Ice Wizard is available on the upgraded Pass Royale track or for 200 Hero Coins.
New card and forms
Minion Giant- ✨ New card: a 4-Elixir Rare flying win condition that targets buildings and spits toxin from range.
A 4-Elixir Rare win condition that flies, only targets buildings and towers, and spits toxin from 4 tiles away. At Level 11 it has 1817 hitpoints; after the September 16 nerf it deals 168 damage every 1.5 seconds (112 per second). It can’t be knocked back, and with a 6.5-tile sight range it is easier to pull with a building than Lava Hound. No single spell kills it at equal levels.
Ice Wizard Hero- ✨ Hero form added (ability: Frosty Fella). It spawns a snowman behind the nearest slowed troop and freezes nearby troops until the snowman is destroyed.
When his ability (Frosty Fella) is activated, a snowman appears behind the nearest slowed enemy troop and nearby troops are frozen until the snowman is destroyed, so the opponent must break the snowman first to save the push. The freeze duration was cut from 7 to 5 seconds on September 16.
How to play Minion Giant
Minion Giant sits between the other air win conditions, Lava Hound and Balloon: it doesn’t burst towers like Balloon, but its ranged attack lets it start hitting before it reaches the tower. Since it only attacks buildings, you need to bait out or spell your opponent’s air defense first — Minion Horde, Musketeer or Inferno Dragon — with cards like Arrows or Fireball. The easiest way to unlock it is the Album Event (September 7 – October 5): completing the album gives 1750 Minion Giant cards in total. As with previous releases, the card won’t drop from chests until next season.
The rest of the season
- Royale Shuffle: a random classic mode with a random deck every battle (September 21 – October 5).
- 2v2 League (September 7–21) and the Princess Gambit Global Tournament (September 21–26; cards capped at Level 11).
- Bug fixes: Hog Rider, Ram Rider and Royal Hogs no longer jump straight from the bridge to the tower, and Bandit and Boss Bandit no longer damage each other when dashing at the same time.
