X-Bow 3.0 is the best-known siege deck. X-Bow is an extremely long-range building: placed on your side near the river, it can hit the enemy tower. The rest of the deck exists to protect X-Bow and defend cheaply against your opponent's attacks.
Game plan
Place X-Bow when your opponent has spent elixir or when you have an elixir lead. Once X-Bow locks onto the tower, your opponent has to send troops to destroy it; Knight, Tesla and Archers stop them while Fireball and The Log clear their support.
X-Bow is also a great defensive card. Against a big push, place X-Bow in front of your own tower to defend and set up a counterattack at the same time.
The deck is very cheap, so track your opponent's answers (Earthquake, Rocket, building-targeting tanks) in their cycle. The safest time to place X-Bow is when those cards aren't in their hand.
Cards and their roles
X-Bow6 elixir Win condition. A siege building that fires at the enemy tower from your side; also a strong defensive card.
Ice Spirit1 elixir One-elixir freeze. Stops a troop heading for X-Bow and buys it time.
Skeletons1 elixir The cheapest cycle card. Distracts single-target troops and cycles you back to X-Bow quickly.
The Log2 elixir Small spell. Pushes back swarms and ground troops in front of X-Bow.
Archers3 elixir Cheap air defense and support in front of X-Bow. Can be split into both lanes.
Knight3 elixir Mini tank. Stands in front of X-Bow to protect it and holds troops on defense.
Tesla4 elixir Defensive building. Hides underground and hits both ground and air; stops cards like Hog Rider and Balloon.
Fireball4 elixir Medium spell. Clears support troops attacking X-Bow and finishes towers.
Tips
Place X-Bow at the safest spot from which it still reaches the enemy tower; too close to the river and enemy troops reach it more easily.
Avoid risky double placements (two X-Bows, or X-Bow plus Tesla) while your opponent holds Earthquake or Rocket.
Put Tesla in the middle on defense to pull building-targeting cards like Hog Rider and Giant.
When you're ahead, switch X-Bow to defense and let your opponent come to you; siege decks win with patience.
Strong against
Against beatdown decks: you pressure with X-Bow before the expensive tank arrives, or use X-Bow on defense.
Against ground decks with few spells: they struggle to take X-Bow down.
Struggles against
Against decks with Earthquake, Rocket or Lightning: these spells deal heavy damage to X-Bow.
Against fast building-targeting cards (Royal Hogs, Ram Rider and similar): defending efficiently gets harder.
